So I just got two new screen protectors for my Samsung S21 ultra and the first one i threw in the garbage because it had that fingerprint punchout hole and it would get a weird tone/smudge(?) In it and today I got a new one and its the same thing.

The fingerprint doesn't really work well even with that hole and well, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with tempered glass screen protectors,if they manage to make it more of a pleasent experience and, of course, if it's preferable that i just get a plastic screen protector instead.

Also, forgot to mention but yeah, it doesn't cover the entirety of the screen either. 😭

Also a bonus piece of advice re: glass screen protectors. If you crack it, please pull the whole thing off nd replace it, i learned the hard way a couple of years ago with a nice shard of glass getting stuck in my index finger while travelling in Taipei (not fun) 🙂

Hi @EEBJON, as a note, Samsung do not sell glass screen protectors for our devices and cannot verify the quality of 3rd party products. As a result, we also cannot cover any damage to the device as a result of 3rd party accessories so be sure to read reviews before purchasing.

Whitestone is the best but make sure it's put on properly. I paid $95 to get mine done on my Note 20 Ultra in Rhodes. They did an awful job as it's out of alignment with the edge hanging over & too far down that my case pushes into it. They didn't want to replace. Lousy.

I got that put on my S21 Ultra (Whitestone Dom) at Hurstville Westfield, a little phone store called FIXD Repair. It only cost me around $50.00, it's worth the money & it's been working fine ever since.
However the first time I went in and got it put on, the adhesive thats used was spread to thick around the fingerprint sensor so I was having trouble unlocking my phone, they re-did the whole thing with a new screen protector no charge ofcourse, was recommended to re-add my finger print with high sensitivity turned on high and so far it's been fine. Wont lie it sometimes takes 1 to 2 or even 3 goes to unlock my phone by fingerprint , trick is, is to to wipe and clean the screen protector as much as you can and you won't have problems. And now I no longer have the high sensitivity option turned on (due to battery consumption but even still that's not very noticeable)

Thanks for info. I'll look into it. But with the finger print reader, I've never had luck with it, even with out screen protector. My wife S10 same. Just doesn't work for me. Press harder it keeps saying.

Some screen protectors are causing this problem especially tempered glass which cracks eventually in a month or 2, so my friend of mine recommended Gadgetshieldz film screen protector which is installed with a liquid they provide and it sticks well to the display. I bought this protector and using it for 5 months now and I don't get any fingerprint sensor issues till now or any touch issues. So you may check this out which could be helpful for you and it is affordable too!

Like you, I was looking for a good screen protector for my s10 and I would totally recommend UV glue tempered glass, as it works with the fingerprint sensor. I ordered mine through nano optics on ebay and that is if you don't want to pay a premium price.
