Anyone experienced their A54 suddenly turning off? My auto restart/auto optimization has been disabled but my phone keeps on shutting off out of nowhere.

Is it because of the temperature and glass back cover?

I used to have S20+ with Exynos chip and phone temp would get so hot it would shut down. But Samsung specialist said there's no such feature in A54.

I think so. The phone is up to date and I just turned off the auto optimization 2 days ago but still experienced random power off

Hello Jayve,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the recent updates on your Samsung Galaxy A54 having issues with sudden shutdown, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

I feel you, and understand where the frustration is coming from, after trying several attempts to correct the issues but to no avail. But don't fret; we are here to guide, assist, and offer solutions to restore your device to optimum performance.

Before you try out the recommendations below as to your solutions, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Suddenly shutting down can be an unwelcome surprise, especially if you are in the middle of something. Follow along to find out what's causing the shutdowns, and how to prevent them from happening again.

Check for possible causes of unexpected phone shutdowns.

1) Close power-hungry apps or features.

If your phone's battery capacity is low, features or apps that require more power may cause the device to suddenly turn off. This measure is designed to protect the battery.

2) Check the battery.

Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for 30 seconds to reset the device.

3) Check the Power key or Side key.

  • Remove any cases or accessories that may interfere with any buttons on the device.
  • Check the Power key or Side key for normal movement. There should be a slight, but distinct clicking feeling when pressing the button. If the key is jammed, it could cause unexpected shutdowns.

4) Charge the device.

Use only a genuine Samsung charger and USB Cable.

Below is the step-by-step procedures on how to Clear Cache Partition.

Step 1. Turn off your phone.

Step 2. Plug in the USB cable via PC or Type-C earphones (in case its USB-C to USB-C).

Step 3. Then press and hold Power and Volume up buttons.

Step 4. Release the power button. When the recovery screen shows up, release the volume up button.

Step 5. Navigate to and select Wipe cache partition (Volume up and down is for highlighting options and power is to select).

Step 6. Navigate to and select Yes.

Step 7. Press the power button to select Reboot system now.

If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Power/Battery/Charging".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.

It's frustrating that my Samsung A54 auto-restarts every time I connect to hotspots. I've already updated the software twice. Can you tell me what to do?
