Hello! Just wanted to ask: Kapag nag-factory reset ba, babalik yung phone sa original android version? Or will it stick sa newest version. I wanted to f-reset my phone. Advisable daw after a major OS update.

Salamat sa sasagot. 😊

Yes, it will be the same android version even if you factory reset.

Its recommended to factory reset your phone after major update if you encounter bugs/issues. I factory reset mine, 2 days after I upgrade to One UI 5.

Hi, just to clarify your question.

For example, you updated your phone to One UI 5. If you do a factory reset, it will not go back to One UI 4.x.

It will wipe everything like it was a new phone but it will not downgrade the firmware version on your smartphone.

If your data is backed up and you're okay in clearing the extra data then yes it is okay to do a factory reset.

Since the other community members already answered your question, I'll just share that I normally would perform a Wipe Cache Partition and Repair Apps after every software update (regardless if it's a major OS update or just the security update). Never encountered any issues with the overall performance eversince.

Thanks for your info ma'am. I always wipe the cache partition every update but never tried repair apps. Can I use the "Repair App" function to fix my Lockscreen bug? After factory reset, the lockscreen of my Tab S7 always stocked in portrait orinatation even though Auto Rotation is on. Thank you.

You can try to clear the cache and use Repair Apps from the recovery menu however if it's a bug, I doubt that it would work. Your best option at this point is to send an error report and hope that it gets addressed on the next update.
