The scanner of my A16 5G phone was still working yesterday, but then, today it cannot read my fingerprint. I tried restarting and it was still not working. I tried re-adding my fingerprints and it would just stay at 0% when I'm clearly covering the whole powerbutton scanner. I came to a conclusion that maybe it is because of the software update because I didn't drop my phone and wet it at any way.

Sorry to hear that, Charrcoal_☹️ Try running Samsung Members diagnostics under Support > Phone diagnostics to check if your fingerprint sensor is still responsive. Also, make sure the power button is clean and dry. If the issue started after an update, checking for new patches or resetting the fingerprint settings might help. Let us know how it goes!

Hello, I would check if the fingerprint is responsive if I could just register my fingerprint, but sadly, I can't. Because I removed all of my registered fingerprints, hoping that maybe I could just reset my biometrics however as I said, when I register my fingerprint it stays at 0% even if I ensure that my finger covers the whole sensor and I put it long enough. My phone and fingers are clean so that didn't solve my problem as well. 😞 🙏 😭 It was just functioning yesterday before I slept but then it didn't when I woke up, it saddens me because I just had it two months ago. I completely understand how disappointing it must be, especially with your phone being so new! ☹️ To dive deeper into your device’s performance, you can use the Samsung Members app to run a diagnostic check. It can give you insights into any potential issues with the fingerprint scanner or screen. Here's how:

  • Open the Samsung Members app
  • Go to the Support tab
  • Tap on Diagnostics
  • Select Fingerprint recognition or Touch screen to check for any issues.

This tool can help identify underlying problems with your sensor or screen, and it’ll provide you with more specific recommendations for resolving the issue!
