Can you force stop it? Go to Settings, scroll to Apps, search for it, open,, bottom of screen, latest update has options at bottom, otherwise go to storage. Possibly going to Safe Mode (read up on this) may allow you another way.

Thanks for your advice. I've tried to force stop & it won't. I'll try the safe mode.

Also I got the link by Googling something like "remove infected android ims service", probably find more options doing this, possibly more by removing "infected".

Still no luck. Anyone have a suggestion as to what to try next?

Which antivirus are you using? Try installing other antivirus apps like Microsoft Defender or Malwarebytes to see if it is just a false positive. You can also try removing it from there if also reported as a virus.

Try renaming it to something like image.jpg, then delete it.

Happened to me today too. Surfshark antivirus flagged it, Netgear Armor as well as inbuilt Samsung av report nothing. False report or Surfshark is good?

I also use surfshark & that flagged it. Just had tech guy look at it. Couldn't find the problem. Said it's either a false flag or a trojan & to report it to surfshark. Just did that. Suggest that you also report it & see what they say.
