Also, the file can't be found as samsung lock down the Android system apps/files. Can't delete or force the app to close

I talked to them already. Weren't any help, usual suggestions like uninstall. I actually factory reset and the same message is still reported, which is unusual for a virus but can happen. I'll contact them again tomorrow

UPDATE: appear that it was a false flag. Didn't use this phone until just now. Reinstalled surfshark & the scan was clear. I had reported the problem as a bug & decided to wait a couple of weeks to see what they'd do. Used an old phone in the meantime just I case.

Maybe a false positive. Your av may be reporting it when it's actually not infected.. do you sideload apps? Our just used play store?

I factory reset and the virus was still reported. Decided to turn phone off for a couple of days. Turned back on and the virus alert was no longer present. So it seems to be a false alert. However my phone is doing strange things so wonder if it is a clever virus after all. All other antivirus checks showed negative, as does Surfshark now. I'm still thinking it could be a genuine virus

The tech guy I saw said surfshark was very good. The only one he would prefer was bitdefender

Netgear Armor is Bitdefender. Reported clean. Both then and now
