I recently change providers and I may have clicked on something in the change over - I vaguely recall doing something. Everything is working well and correctly but I am not getting the little orange dot coming up on the Messages App on my home screen to show if I have received any SMS's or MMS's. However, when I go into the Messages App, the red dots will be there on the new messages. I have tried every trouble shooting suggestion online and nothing is working. My husband and others say they texted me and I say I got no text, but if I go into the app they are there but not showing up on home screen.

In Settings --> Notifications --> Messages, the Notification button is turned 'on'.

In Settings --> Apps --Notifications . 'Show Notifications' is turned 'on'; 'General Notifications' is turned 'on'; 'New Messages' is turned 'on'.....well, everything is turned 'on' except 'Foreground Syncs' which keeps turning itself off even if I do turn it on. However, at the bottom when you scroll down it says '2 categories deleted'.   I've tried everything and turned off and on again several times.  Please help?!

Have you checked in Settings-> Home Screen and scroll down to App Icon Badges to see if it's enabled?

You need to have the app icon badges as enabled. To do this, from the home screen hold down on your message app, click on the imformation icon and from there you will be takes to a screen where you can enable the settings. Click on notifications. It will then give you options for notification types.
Enable the badge to allow. 1701698546755.jpg
