How do I create a message group? Where incoming and outgoing messages to the same group of people are together, and separate from individual messages to/
from any of the members.

Wish I knew ... but my 1st look would be in Samsung Tips or trying ChatGPT for a quick guide ;)

Hi gadgetdh,

If you're using the Samsung Messages app from the Galaxy Store, here's how you can create and manage group messages specifically in that version:

To create a group chat in Samsung Messages:

  1. Open the Samsung Messages app from your app drawer or home screen.
  2. Tap the "+" icon or the "Start chat" icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select the contacts you want to add to the group. You can search or scroll through your contact list to select multiple people.
  4. Once you've selected all the contacts, tap "Done" or "Next."
  5. Optional: Name your group chat if you like, so you can easily identify it later.
  6. Send your first message to initiate the group chat.

Once the group is created, messages you send within the group will be shared with all members, and all replies will appear in the same thread. Messages sent individually to any member of the group will remain in separate threads.

However, Google Messages is currently the primary app supporting RCS with its full suite of reactions, replies, typing indicators, and read receipts.

For a consistent experience, we recommend you to please switch to Google messages instead of preloaded Samsung Messages App.

Download from Google Play store > Google Messages and set as default. Google Messages ensures a smarter experience through AI suggestions and automatic organization.

Thank you.

Thanks for the info. I have tried Google messages, but could not change the default ringtone or user/group specific ring tones.
