My Friends a30 not displaying phone numbers/contacts on incoming calls

Hey my friends a30 has a problem whenever he receives a call it shows unknown does anyone know how to fit this without factory resting it?

That's odd. I suggest getting your friend to send an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further. 

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Additionally, try reaching out to the service provider for support to see if there are any settings or call features that may be causing this.

No the thing is say if I call him it shows unknown but if he calls me I can see his contact

Mine is set to network default which is show

Even if I do whenever he recives a call it shows unknown it does for every number

Hi @Codyyy, that's strange. Typically displaying phone numbers is set from the caller rather than the receiver. Is your phone set to private? 

Phone app > ⋮ > Settings > Supplementary services > Show caller ID > Network default/Show number

No mines set to public no matter what number or phone you ring from it still shows unknown or sometimes it may even show private number
