I already saw the post on https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a/quot-other-quot-in-internal-storage-has-10gb-of-unexpla... tried deleting my dump. I also connected my phone to the PC, selected all folders > properties - the size was around 9GB only.

Till now, I have not started using the phone and have just used smart switch to transfer the contents of my old device. Why is other occupying 11 GB?

Hi @Exter-dg,

The “Other” tab houses files which users have saved to a Secure Folder, and the Android data folder which includes the device’s Operating System. The Android data folder cannot be accessed on the handset using My Files, however it can be accessed by connecting your mobile device to a computer via USB.

It can also include app data that is not part of the app itself. E.g cache data.

Hope this clarifies things.

Deleted the secure folder (which was empty) and the "other" still occupies 11.21 GB of space.

Installed Google files - It shows 35 GB occupied. Restarted the phone, "my Files" now shows 41.2 GB occupied and 10.82GB as "other"

Gave "my Files" the permission to access apps and realized the apps for occupying 8GB out of the "other"'s 10GB.
