I have been using the Samsung A53 5G for about a year, and so far, it has been the worst update I have done. I moved from the A50 to the A53 5G, and it has not been a pleasant experience.

1. The cracking and bugging out of the entire phone when lightly multitasking with music in the background.

2. Streaming music with Spotify and opening the camera app causes constant crashes and has made my phone restart on several occasions.

3. Cache management is almost non-existent as I have had to factory reset my entire device to erase over 60-70GB of cache that I cannot seem to manually clear.

I never had these issues with my A50 at all, which is most annoying, because why is a 5-year-old phone less buggy in comparison? I have received several software updates since I bought the device, yet all these issues and more still remain.

If anyone has found solutions or experienced similar issues, I'd appreciate any advice. It’s disheartening that an upgrade has led to such a downgrade in user experience.

If you haven't already Googled do so, google something like "why is my Samsung A53 5G so slow". Check number of background apps active, also if you haven't restarted recently do so, and search how to optimise ram (I have a widget in my S6 lite which shows on my home screen).

Another comment. A50 is limited to 4G, 5G coverage transmits for a much shorter distance and tends to need a direct line of connection,so for an A53 i.e. if you go around a corner the phone might fall back to 4G. See if you can see if you can lock down to 4G in network settings (Settingx, Connections, Mobile networks) If you want to check coverage load an app called Aus Phone Towers, drag from left to show hidden menu settings you can change. On the map click on coloured dot to show coverage.

Not relevant, have you got Wi-fi calling turned on this provides an alternative method for receiving phone calls and texts if your cell tower connection is weak. You need to be connected to your wi-fi network and if you move out of wi-fi range you lose your connection. As an example, Google "Telstra w-fi calling"

I use Ram Plus. The stutter and the rest? i dont think is down to RAM shortage. There's plenty of RAM. i think its just plain ol' device stability that they've refused to fix in this model. Check the Galaxy A53 sub reddit.

Note that you can try alternative apps from the Play Store. To do so install an app and temporarily disable the existing app by going to Settings, Apps, scrolling to the app and then reviewing tha app content (if the app isn't visible scroll back to the top and change settings to include system apps).
