On 15th June 2023 on our way back from the Hunter Valley, I spotted this mega storm.

We had to enter this mega storm to get home
Unfortunately we have to go towards it so we canget home to the Central Coast.
As we wre driving on the M1, we entered this Mother Of All Storms. The wind was pushing our car around and the rain was the heaviest that I have ever seen. I guestimate that in 30 minutes we had 120 mm of rain.
It was too dangerous to pull over because the edge of the road was gone under a sheet of water.
The maximum speed that was safe to do was about 40 km, fortunately all of the other drivers had the same reasoning.

Monochrome version
Here's a monochrome of the photo.
I took this photo using Expert Raw
The setting were: F2.2, 1/632s, IS0 50.
I used Galaxy Gallery app to edit the Raw file.

I've driven on the M1 during a big storm and know how scary it is! Especially when the rain is so heavy you can't see a thing!
Awesome photo though! Looks incredible!

The driving was an horrible experience which I don't want to experience again. 😕
I wish I had time to take a video of the clouds rumbling around, but I just wanted to try to beat it 😢 and get home safe.

Ooh.. good thing you made it out ok 👍🏽

It was a tough and go at one moment, a red P plate driving a dark green Ute with no lights just miss us as he was doing at least 100kmh weaving in and out between the cars.
BLOODY **bleep**!

I really like the black & white one. Good work 📸👍💯

The mono is quite dramatic and you can see what is going on easier because there's no colour to interfere.
