I have had this message come up on my screen for the last 2 days. Unauthorized: Passwords unavailable. It comes up randomly as far as I can tell when I am in anything on my phone. Can anyone help me understand what the message is referring to and how to get rid of it please?

That's a new one. I haven't seen that. Maybe send a bug report via the app.

Ps which Galaxy Note do you have?

That's a problem. I don't know where this message is coming from. It doesn't tell me which app. I thought it may have been a Samsung error message, not from a third party app. I try to click on it but it doesn't do anything. I was lucky to get the screenshot. It's totally random too when it is displayed on the phone. I have a Galaxy Note 8.

I wonder if it's the old Samsung Pass app. It's been deprecated so you have to use Samsung Wallet. Can you check in the Galaxy store to see if you can download that?

Samsung pass is where your passwords are saved, but it has since been merged into Samsung wallet. Maybe that's why you have the message if you're still using the old Samsung pass (ie it's now incompatible, hence why the message pops up).

I'd also go into the Galaxy store and see if there any other Samsung specific app updates.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for helping me out by the way. It seems that no one else has encountered this issue. I checked and I do have Samsung Pass on my phone as well as a Samsung Pass Auto-Fill and a Samsung Pay app. I can't see that I have Samsung Wallet though. Oh wait. Looks like they are the same thing. So you think if I uninstalled Samsung Pass that everything will be okay? Do you think I need to transfer any information from the Pass app to the Wallet app? I would hate to lose information or not be able to access some things. So confusing. If Pass was being deprecated why not tell everyone to delete the app, or did I just not read the memo?

You can go into samsung wallet and see if your data are migrated automatically first. If everything is there, I'd imagine it is safe to delete Samsung pass.

Not sure why, could be that the note 8 is a little old and they've forgotten about it 😅.

But yeah, the only reason that message pops up that I can think is Samsung pass. That app keeps your passwords and if it's no longer used, it could be the reason why that message keeps popping up.

Not looking to upgrade?

I don't suppose you could help me get Samsung bloatware off my Galaxy Note 8. I would love to upgrade my phone, but I can't. I have run into the same problem after a factory reset. However, this time I am unable to open Samsung Pay/Wallet. It goes to open and then sits there on a white screen, and no matter what I try I can't seem to disable Samsung Pass and Auto fill.

I have tried deleting my fingerprints and deleting my Samsung account and then tried to delete the caches and data on both apps and restarting phone. I can't seem to get it off. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! Unfortunately you can't delete a system app.

Also, I don't think you need to get an expensive phone! Samsung has various phones, from their S series and their A series.

Some people on this forum has taken amazing pictures from their A15 for example.

You can also use your phone as trade in and Samsung normally has bonus trade ins.

All the best!
