Galaxy NoteI have a Galaxy Note+ 5G phone. The software is up to date.
Every so often, my favorites tray (I think that's what that row of app icons along the bottom of the screen is called) decides to be vertical instead of horizontal. I don't know why, I don't like it, I want this behaviour to stop.
I can "fix" it by restarting the phone. I want to fix it without restarting. I want to understand why it happened.
My software is up to date.
First image is the "wrong" look. Second is what I usually have.
Can anyone help?
this is wrong
this is right

Galaxy NoteI don't usually use Samsung's One UI Home Launcher, but it looks like in it's Settings, you are allowing it to Rotate to Landscape.
Long Press on the screen to show the Launcher's Settings & Toggle on Lock Home Screen layout & Toggle OFF Rotate to Landscape.
See if that works for you.
Note: Lock Home Screen Layout will prevent you from adding or Removing items from your desktop. I don't think that is your issue, but just for now to see.
Toggle OFF Rotate to Landscape is I think the issue.
Because what seems to be happening is that the Dock is getting Rotated to the side..
But like I said I don't usually use this Launcher, I use Nova Launcher.

Galaxy NoteI use ADW Launcher. I've been using it for years and never had this issue until this particular phone. I'll see if there is such a setting.

Galaxy NoteNope. The Landscape Mode toggle is off in Settings and ADW prefs are set to Portrait (well, I am still ion portrait when it goes wonky, the nav bar is just up the side).

Galaxy NoteWhat One UI version is running on your device?
ADW Launcher hasn't been updated since 2018!
You might want to try using Nova Launcher, which supports One UI V4.x if that's what you have on your Note device.
What is the model number of your Note?
That's actually not the Nav Bar, but the "dock" that is moving to the right side & vertical.
The Nav Bar is the 3 functions, Recents - Home & Back.
First screen shot is the Nav Bar & 2nd screen shot is the dock.
The dock moving to the right & vertical is caused by the Launcher's Settings.. somewhere, or it's just not compatible with the Android version running on your device?

Galaxy NoteHi, could you please check if this happens even with Samsung default launcher?
