Does the Samsung S22+ support AptX Adaptive audio codecs? I have talked to Samsung Reps on the phone, chat, text, searched the web, searched the Samsung site and I can find nothing. I forgot about twitter, reddit, and even facebook with no better luck. I have messaged some utubers to see if they would post audio codecs from the developer options as well.

The Reps/Techs I talked with from Samsung say and I quote "Since this is a new item we don't have that data". I was blown away because I can't believe I am the only other person who wants to know this information. I have noticed Samsung didn't support codecs on the S20/21 that support AptX HD and also AptX Adaptive. This leads me to believe that they wont this year also, but I have to check.

Edit: This is for Qualcomm 8 Gen 1 processor
Might as well check to see if it will support:
AptX
AptX HD
AptX Lossless
LDAC
Well perhaps to make it easier. You list all the codecs it does support.

Thanks for any information you can provide

Laura I just bought the S22+,  I already own Buds Pro and this issue is persistent regardless of my altering the codec to AAC or any of the only two other options in the developer mode. aaptx is not available as you already noted.

Please note that as a 10+ year loyal Samsung user I expect a prompt and immediate resolution to this matter without delay.

The money I have spent with Samsung over the years and especially recently on this S22+ does not afford Samsung the luxury of shrugging its shoulders and taking its time to find a solution.

Please get back to me when the problem is fixed within the next 24 hours. No excuses.

Hi,

I'm looking to connect my s22 ultra 128GB to a pair of corsair virtuoso xt headphones that use the aptx HD codec does this fall under the aptx support listed above? if it does i'm unable to change to any of the listed bluetooth codecs in my developer options. Is there any help you'd be able to provide?

Kind Regards

I just purchased the s22+ yesterday.   I moved from the note 9.  I have Sony xm4 earbuds.  On my note 9 (under developer options - Bluetooth) I have always been able to change from the AAC codec to LDAC for tidal.  Never had issues.

On the s22+ I can change it to LDAC but it reverts back within 5 - 10 seconds. Definitely not supporting LDAC (Sony codec). There is also a grayed out LDAC line item for playback that is separate but is not selectable. That was not on the note9.

I have been on Samsung devices for a long time as well.  Unfortunately this codec issue really is upsetting.   May go back to note9 before time is up.  Let's see what else I can find.  Otherwise loving the 22+

Hi @Mapleleaf1773, thanks for reaching out. Have you checked to ensure that multipoint is disabled on your Sony XM4?

I just stumbled on this because I'm using my ATH-M50xBT2 for the first time with my new S22 and opened the companion app to see they were using AAC (app was set to Auto). I tried to switch to LDAC but it defaulted to SBC. I did a quick hunt to see if LDAC was supported on the S22, then had the thought to go to Bluetooth Settings, then the settings for the headphones themselves and found a toggle to turn on LDAC, which surprised me, but I'm glad the idea came to me!

It is easy. In Bluetooth options there is the option to activate. I don't understand how anyone from Samsung suggests this.
