Hi all

Got the dreaded bootloop with the S22 Ultra. One year exact out of warranty and they refuse to repair under ACL citing "the age of the product, the price you paid, and your usage of the product". I tried to press the case manager on what constituted the "age of the product" and whether it was deemed acceptable for a high end produce to fail within three years. I also tried to question what they meant by "price I paid", I paid lots of money for the S22 Ultra, it wasn't their low tier product.
I also tried to question him what he meant by "usage of the product", this phone is my personal phone with no external damage.

Last time I will be purchasing samsung, I have escalated it with a complaint but doubt anything will be done.

Would a complaint to ACCC actually assist?

Which ombdusman in QLD would assist...

Try under Australian Consumer Law. I had issues with iPad long back with hardware failure once out of warranty. They refused to replace. I said under ACL, even if broken u have to check. 3 days later, new iPad. Reach out to ACL via website

So begin with ACCC (not ACL) will just tell you to liaise with Samsung. ACL is the set of laws you're quoting.

Secondly you can escalate this to QCAT but there is a waiting period and money involved to lodge a case. I'm not sure how far behind QCAT is but VCAT is 12 months behind.
