I want to know as well, as I tried Google phone app as it mentioned it can, however I tried, it's not working, sometimes recording is really important, also can be used as evidence

If you put your phone on speaker phone then an ordinary record app should work. Obviously uou lose the confidentiality you might want, including the other party knowing.
You might find something by Googling "recording an android phone call" and adjusting your settings to download an app outside of Play Store. Of course this advice relates to calls you can record legitimately in countries that allow it 😂

Due to laws in Australia, we don't get call recording.

There are some app on the Play Store that claim to work, but they seem to be hit or miss.

Keep in mind, you cannot legally record a conversation, or use it in court, if the other party hasn't been warned/consented.

It Queensland it is lawful to record a phone conversation, providing one of the parties has knowledge that the call is being recorded. The party that is recording the call does not need to advise that other party that the call is being recorded and the call may be lawfully be introduced as evidence in a Qld court of law. According to Legal Aid QLD, there are restrictions on what can be done with the recording.

Also, my comment was generalised since there is variation in laws between states.

The other option is to try using the Bixby text call option with "Call Settings". I was reading a review of this function 2 days ago and the author mentioned that it was for the most part very accurate in recording the transcript of the caller.

You could try calling a friend or family member first to test it out when they call you back!

You can only try as Dolgogi rightly pointed out, there are laws that restrict call recording with your consent first.
