Definitely should not be happening. I've seen one other community member post about a similar issue but it was a long time ago. I don't remember if this is software or hardware level, but my best suggestion is to take it to a service center.

Hello 23Kimmy,

We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Samsung Galaxy phone having issues with camera flares, or linear light lines around light sources during nighttime use, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. I understand where your disappointment is coming from; expecting your device's camera to performed as it was supposed to. If it happened to me, I would feel the same.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps (Camera apps) are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Restart your device.

Reset Camera App.

Step 1.  Open the Camera app, and then tap Settings.

Step 2. Reset the settings.

Step 3. Swipe to and tap Reset settings and then tap Reset.

Camera Clear Cache and Clear Data.

Step 1. Open Settings → Apps → Camera → Storage

Step 2. Click clear cache and clear data.

If that does not work, please submit an error report through Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Camera".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
