Hi everyone,
I recently got the S23 ultra (I'm in Australia and on thr most recent update as of the 2nd of December) and I've been having problems with thr camera. When I go into video mode, the OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) vibrates and makes a funny sound. When reviewing the video, I hear a distinct buzzing noise and the camera shakes so much that everything appears blurry.
Here is a link to the video of what is happening:
The funny thing about it is that it is only the diagonals and not the horizontal or the vertical. I'm wondering if this is a hardware or software issue as I just got the phone and immediately updated to the newest software so it could be a bug. I think it's a software issue because this problem doesn't happen when I'm in photo mode and wave it around like i did.
If anyone has any suggestions for how to fix this, or of they have encountered the same problem, just reply.
Regards,
TheOneAndOnlySpecial

In this forum on the Community page, bottom right, is a link to Support. In Support you will find several ways for seeking help. I think/hope making a call is the first step. Note if you aren't close to a service centre, and it is accepted as warranty, you will be advised on how to print a mailing label. If this is the case make sure the phone is carefully protected, e.g. bubble wrap, and take a photo showing the packaging. Although I hope someone in this forum can give advice you are more likely to find help using Google and a careful choice of key words.

If you think it's software related, try installing a third party camera software, also as a last resort before you take it to service centre try a factory reset.

Hey @TheOneAndOnlySpecial

Thanks for reaching out. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Support > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

Kind Regards,

Hi DavidS7773, I spoke to samsung and they said to drop it off at the samsung store to get it fixed. They said that it is likely an autofocus problem and they can fix it.

Thank you for your response. While searching online, I came across other cases similar to ours. I am very disappointed with Samsung because this smartphone is extremely expensive and sending it for repair after just a few months is unacceptable. I have always had Samsungs and even my Note 3 which is 10 years old, still works, I just had to change the battery. The S23 Ultra will probably be my last Samsung after this bad experience.
