Facial Recognition Unlock is really bad.

I just purchased an S23 Ultra.. and compared to my previous Xiaomi 11 Ultra, the S23 requires a very specific position to unlock by face. With the Xiaomi.. I barely have to point the phone to my face and it unlocks, even at different angles.

maybe allowing more photos at different angles to map our faces efficiently? Like with the finger print.

Paying $2000 for a flagship phone..I hope this improves.

Samsung should do anything ito fix this defect. or compensate consumers😡😡

Facial recognition is awful on the S23 Ultra.  Probably only works 1 out of 20 times.  I was using an iPhone 12 before this and the facial recognition worked first time every time.  Fingerprint unlocking on this is also a disappointment.  Most of the time it tells me to press harder. For a phone that costs £1249 this is a big let down.   Not sure if I will bother with a Samsung phone again if this is how things are.

Really samsung made its failure in this phone face unlock.

Yes buddy the face unlock is awful same for s23 ultra however I have reported this issue to the samsung. I have tried this by putting my face in a dark room then it works like charm but if by any reason light is refelcted on your face it won't work. I guess this is a software issue.

Yup, facial recognition is 1 in 10.  Maybe 1 in 20.  Useless.   My iPhone 12 was great.  S23 doesn't use lidar like the iPhone.     I've tried reentering my face, setting an alternate appearance.  Nothing works. This is a joke "feature"  The fingerprint unlock is not good either.  If my fingers get a bit dry it doesn't work well.  Not flagship at all.

I had the S22 Ultra and face ID was really good. Now I upgraded to S23 Ultra and man, that's awful. Samsung needs to do something about it.

Same here. My S22 works well while S23 is very slow and usually just fails...

Paid same amount as iphone and can't even unlock my s23 conveniently. Finger print also giving issues.

Coming from OnePlus I really am disappointed with the quality and accuracy of face unlock, I used to look away intentionally if i want to open my OnePlus with fingerprint for payment. This is really disappointing.

Same here. I've had to re register face a few times to get it working. Whereas the old iPhone mini opens every single time.
