Anyone else having problems with their fingerprint sensor. Mine stopped working the other day and each time I tried to use it, the fingerprint icon had disappeared and now it tells me that there is a problem and to restart my phone, it doesn't restore it tho.
Any help would be great.

Hi jgsa1967,

Have you tired to delete/redo your fingerprint(s) in the Biometrics settings?

I haven't experienced the restart issue your facing. Might be best to log an error report with Samsung. When it happens again, within 3 minutes, open the Members app, click on the Support Tab > Error Report > Sensor/Touch. Describe the details and frequency of the issue, tick 'send system log data' then send to Samsung to have a look for any underlying issues.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

When you can't use the finger print sensor, are your fingers been in water?
That may be the reason.

No, there is actually no fingerprint sensor at all on the screen, it's disappeared.

You can also try the Diagnostic tools in the Samsung Members app.

Doesn't work because the sensor is not there at all

Also go to settings display and turn on touch sensitive if using a screen protector helps

You could try booting the phone into Safe Mode and see if that makes a difference.

Safe Mode will disable all 3rd party apps, which might be affecting the sensor.

To do this, bring up the Shut Down screen, tap and hold on the Power Off icon. After a few seconds, a Green Safe Mode icon will appear, tap on this and let it boot.

You can then try checking if this helped.

Failing that, you could try a factory reset, but you may actually need to take it to a service centre or a Samsung store if you have access to one, as it could be a hardware failure.
