Galaxy S21 Ultra refresh rate lags

Hi! Anyone here been experiencing dramatic refresh rate drops/ lags on their Galaxys S21 Ultra/series? I've been experiencing the lags after updating to the January 2022 update (version G998BXXU4BULF). 

It happens often, mostly happening when waking up the phone from the always on display (through fingerprint biometrics). It's like the phone is having a hard time to re-adapt back to 120hz after opening the screen. I've checked, and I confirm, that my Motion smoothness setting is always on Adaptive mode, so I assume that display would be adapting between </=120Hz.

I've also phoned Samsung customer service and they've said that the best thing to do right now is to wait for a week or so and check of the problem still exists. If so, they advised to bring the phone to a service center.

I have a different scenario yet same RFR lagging experience.
I was scrolling through FB app, stopped scrolling for a second and when I scrolled again the lagging starts. I simply turned off then on the screen and the RFR was alright.

Happened only once on my S21U.

Good for you. Mine happens often, mostly at unexpected times, especially when waking up the phone from the always on display fingerprint biometrics. Then it'll take a minute or two before the refresh rate catches up back to 120Hz (given that I have to turn off the screen first and wait for 1- 2 mins before turning it on again).

Sad to know! I've seen a thread as well from Samsung US forums with the same issue. Probably a bug from the latest update. Hoping that Samsung addresses this right away as it really get frustrating at times🤞🤞😅

randomly I get into the wallpaper and style menu when I swipe back even tho I haven't opened it.

I haven't had this issue yet as of the moment. Just the occasional lags after waking up the screen.
