Only a few days until the pre orders direct from Samsung ship. It will be interesting to see if there is actually a noticeable difference with the small hardware updates.

The camera updates will probably be the most noticeable followed by the improvements to the audio. The AI will probably end up being one of the least used features for most people and Samsung deciding to go all in on it was an unusual decision in my opinion.

Hopefully Smart Switch is able to import passwords and accounts fully from previous phones now as it has been sorely lacking the ability to seamlessly move a user from one phone to another.

It's also very obvious Samsung doesn't think much of people who purchase direct from them with third party retailers already handing over the pre orders made through them rather than those who purchase through Samsung being the first to receive them or at least receiving them at the same time.

I got my S25U 512 GB Titanium SilverBlue yesterday, 4th Feb 2025 through a click-and-mortar retailer. So far I'm loving it. I'm upgrading from an S23U 512 GB. Transfer of apps and data was seamless, it even transferred the secure folder to the new phone (with permission of course). I'll have to setup my mdm stuff separately though, and handle all the logins and configurations, so there's a ways to go.

I never did like the curved edges of the S23U, so I'm delighted to have the flat screen edges back on this phone.

I got a clear case from Amazon and that looks and feels okay, but has a raised bezel around the cameras which interferes with the magnetic raised bezel prevents accurate magnetic latching of Qi2 batterymating of my Qi2 magnetic battery that I also got from Amazon. So watch out for that. The battery latches and works fine on magnetic case with my S23U that doesn't have the raised camera bezel. Looks like I'll be looking for another case. I wanted a clear case to show off the native S25U colours.
