Individual Message Tones

Hey Team & @Samsung,

Is it possible to customise message tones for individual contacts? I know how to change the ring tones, but I also want to change message tones.

Also, Samsung uses the same default tone for messages, as well as various Apps such as MS Teams. How can I customise these tones so thst I can differentiate between actual messages & App notifications?

Hi Melodea,

For changing app notifications sounds, tap and hold on the app you want to change (I.e. messenger), click the info icon in top right corner to open 'App Info', then tap 'notifications' > 'notification categories' > select the notification type you want to change (I.e. chat alerts)

Then click 'Sound' to pick a different tone from the default tone.

For customised message tones, open Messages > select a conversation > click the 3-dots in top right corner > then click Notification sound to select a custom sound for that contact.

I feel the same way. I want different sounds for notifications specifically msgs, fb n instagram. Do you know anything about how to do this????
