Is my battery damaged?

I left my phone charging for four and a half hours overnight while it was switched off. Is this a practice one should avoid to reduce the risk of battery damage? The phone wasn't hot when I unplugged it.

Before bedtime, you should turn on protect battery, which charges maximum up to 85%, and it won't damage the battery at all. But leaving switched off while charged is risky to damage the battery if you do

Either the battery runs down very quickly or it only charges to a certain level

To check the battery capacity, go to the setting, then about the phone, then battery information, u will see that battery capacity that you have now.
