Yes. My S23Ultra's battery is now FAR less efficient, and it's getting very hot, which it wasn't prior to the update. I'm surprised I haven't received any notifications about the overheating.

Hi It_music97 and PensivePendulum,

Sorry to hear that you're both facing this issue.

We've received reports from other users experiencing higher than expected battery discharge after updating to One UI7, and after investigation, we have determined that the issue is the result of abnormal app operation from the Instagram app. This issue has been reported to Meta for further investigation from the app perspective. Once the issue has been resolved by Meta, any fix will be distributed through an Instagram app update via the Google Play Store. It is recommended to keep your applications up to date through the Google Play Store.

I'd also recommend clearing cache partition as users have reported that it has helped them improve their battery life.

Let me know if you need any help with this.

Did meta fix after Samsung reported the issue?

I think you will find that most samsung devices have faced the same issue plus more since having install the 7.0 update.

Iv not yet unstalled the 7.0 update due to the negativety surrounding it and shall wait untill samsung release june security patch. My hope is to not face any issues. (Fingers crossed)

I have heard several mention updating instagram aswell as clearing cache's seems to help with the battery drainage. Maybe give that a go???

If Samsung is confident it's an instagram problem, it may be prudent to push a notification to that effect to all devices that took / take the 7 update.
There are tons of videos on YouTube about the problem but I haven't seen any which mention instagram. There are many people affected and most are upset with Samsung. Probably a good idea to notify them and perhaps a press release would help.
I don't use instagram but I'm not updating to 7 until I hear officially from Samsung that the problem is resolved.
