I've forgotten my password to the secure folder and it tells me to sign into my Samsung account and reset the secure folder.

I've obviously not switched on my brain today (a possibility 🙃) but am going around in circles getting nowhere. Help please.

But wouldn't it delete the data as well?

I don't know but from memory there's nothing critically important in there anyway. I'm going around in circles trying to find how to reset the lock.

IMO the instructions are misleading because it tells you to sign in to your Samsung account. My understanding (possibly incorrect of course) is that the only way to sign out of your Samsung account effectively removes it?

Thank you but unfortunately in my case that doesn't work because even though the link is called resetting pass code it explains using a pattern.

See https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/o274/gcovo/Screenshot_20220815-011704_Settings.jpg

That's all I get and if I go tap on Samsung Account it takes me to a screen listing the various accounts I have, including Samsung. I have checked all the options in there which is how I found my way to this Community page but apart from that I'm going around in circles. 😭

It sounds like you have to log into that specific samaung account in your phone. Then see if you can follow my previous link?

I'd imagine since the secure folder is linked to that specific samsung account, you'd need to resign as that specific account to reset the folder.

Thanks again but my belief is I'm already logged in to my Samsung account on my phone because if I try to log out it seems the only way to log out of a Samsung account is to remove the Samsung account altogether, which I certainly don't want to do. Or have I got it all wrong? 😭

In actual fact all I was originally trying to do was see what, if indeed anything, I had stored in it. Obviously that means there can't be anything of critical importance so my next step was just to delete and start again but looks like I can't.

So you're already logged in as the ...org.au email, but you're still having issues?

From what I can see, people have this specific issue as yours, if they've changed their email (ie, they initially used an email, then changed their email). But if nothing has changed on your end, that's a bit weird.

I'd imagine you'd have to reset the phone (do a full back up first).

Hi @Covo, to clarify, are you able to follow the prompts to log into your Samsung account to reset Secure Folder?
