Hi all,

I'm having random issues in Google Messages (on my new s21) with my messages not arriving at their destination.  Sometimes it tells me it's because I need to switch to text/SMS only, sometimes it tells me it's gone through ok but just doesn't arrive at the other end.  Sometimes, with a person I've been happily "chatting" with, I suddenly have to convert to text/SMS to make it work.  Sometimes people are just slow to answer, I know, but now that I've had a few instances of people not getting my messages, it makes me lose confidence that they are getting through to anyone.

Would appreciate any tips on how to switch between texting and chatting for individual users too if anyone knows. I can't figure out how to do this.

If you're using the new Chat Features, the app will usually automatically decide how to send the msg, via RCS (Chat) or SMS/MMS.

So those using iPhone or others using Android devices but not the new Chat/RCS functionality, will get SMS/MMS.

Hi @StepJen, that's odd. @Doldogi is correct in that Chat Features will automatically decide how to send an message.

I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated further by our research and development team.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Are there any Samsung offices/service centres near you? If you take your device with you to one, the lovely staff will try and fix it for you.

@ilovedogs, I would LOVE to do that, but sadly, no stores anywhere near me.  Would have to go interstate.
