My Text Message app keeps opening by itself and pushing me out of the current app I may be using (any app)

Then when I open up the history of my open Apps the text message app is blank? I try to open it and it just flashes my screen and doesn't open?

Happens quite frequently, average about every 10-15 minutes.

It's very annoying as I use my phone for work and slows down my process.

Hi @DannoB, that's strange.

Please try the following:

Tap and hold Message app > App info > Storage > Clear cache

If that does not work, I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

I have the exact same problem on my a71. And if I am doing something live, like a live game, it pauses the game and disconnects me from it. It also keeps flashing when I'm using other apps. If I'm typing in another message app, it will flash and close the type screen.

This started a few months ago. It can happen as much as every 3 to 4 minutes.

I have noticed that when my screen flashes, the message app is now in the 'open apps' (III) section. But if I press on it, the screen just flashes and it won't open. But if I press on any of the other apps in that selection window, they will open just fine.

Did you find a solution for this?

I tried the suggestion by the moderator but I can't even find 'clear cache'.

AND!!! I attempted to follow the other suggestion and make an error report. It continuously told me my language was NOT SUPPORTED!!! How on earth is that possible???!!! I was FINALLY able to but I don't know how I managed to do that. Just stupid persistence, I guess.

And I did not open any strange links. In fact, none. I don't use the app other than 2fp verifications.

I am SO angry at myself for moving to samsung from iphone. I will be moving back as soon as possible. The android system is horrible. I hate it so much!!! There are other things I can't stand.

Did you find a solution for this?
