I wanted to know if anyone else has had a 'sim card not detected' error message appear on their phone that disconnects them from the network? If so, have you managed to get any resolution from Samsung?

It's been happening to me for weeks and when I am on a call it disconnects the call.

I've taken my phone back to Samsung four times and the first two times they said they had fixed it, but the error kept occuring.

It was eventually escalated and they said they couldn't detect any error and have returned my phone unrepaired, replaced nor refunded, yet I am still experiencing the same error.

I am waiting for my next (fifth) appointment which I could only get in two weeks' time to try and get a resolution.

Very disappointing experience and appalled at thr customer service considering my loyalty to Samsung for so many years.

I've definitely got a sim in and have tried multiple sims to check if it's an isolated issue with my sim and the error continues with other sims.

Hi @MrsGC, I am sorry to hear the issue persists. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

Try going into Apps, then Phone, and clearing the cache (usually found under Storage). Less likely try installing Google Phone, make it default and then test ( you can re-activate the original phone setting by making it default again). One other thing, apart from faulty hardware connection, is to try to clean the connections to the sim. If the phone side of the sim is visible clean it with a rubber, if it is inserted get a throwaway sim and pull it in and out frequently as this is the only way I know you can get at the internal surface.

Hi, I am also having the same issue here and have had the same runaround from Samsung. They have been absolutely terrible to deal with so I know have to lodge a complaint with consumer affairs to have it resolved, really disappointing for it to come to this...how did you resolve your issue?

Hi @zzaratam, I am sorry to hear you are experiencing a similar issue with your device. The best course of action would be to send an error report within a few minutes of the issue occurring for our team to analyse.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

This has just started happening to me and I cannot get the phone to recognise a SIM card now. I'm at my wits end and so cranky!!
