Hi everyone,

After the latest One UI update, I’m finding my phone harder to use:

  • The search bar is at the bottom now, which is uncomfortable to use.
  • The notification panel is split (right side = home options, left side = messages), which feels confusing.
  • The menu screen is messy, and the "Customize" option doesn’t let me arrange apps properly.

It feels a lot like an iPhone now, and I really liked Samsung’s old customizable style. I hope Samsung can bring back more user-friendly options or let us choose our preferred layout.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

Thanks!

Are you talking about the web browser search bar or the app search bar in the menu?
If you're talking about the web browser, the bar has been at the bottom for a while maybe 1 or 2 years now.
I'm used to it now 😅 but it might take some time to get used to.
I think you can check it in the settings?

Lol does not need. Just invest 30mins your time, will be a master 😅. But people are lazy to do it.

This is one of the best upgrade ever seen in a smartphone and Samsung is the only OEM with this much level of customisation. Regarding your query you can still change it to your preferred level and make it look like how you want to be. If still unhappy with default home launcher, then you can use 3rd party home launcher and customize specifically to your liking. This is the freedom we get in android. Well ofcourse has to spend time learning on how to do it and search in Google. It will be worth it.

Was totally disappointed with the ui7 update dumbing down and removing basic settings like Max 3 notification icons, no Bluetooth or nfc icons etc. Blows my mind they would remove customisation settings as part of an update. Last samsung device I buy was the fold 6, because of this.

Loads of people all over the internet complaining about the terrible feature reductions.

What do you mean by features reductions? And what do you mean by 3 notification icons? You mean at the top of the screen right side icons? To avoid everything cluttered and a mess like before only essentials are shown. And wait you can choose which one to be showing on top. By default only if you scroll down notification panel you see all rest of icons which is enabled and connected. Or you can choose which one to be displayed on top like for example if you want to include Bluetooth you can enable it. You can choose which ever you want to be seen on top. It's not removed. No features are removed. There is enough space at top for other necessary icons to be displayed. You can still customize it to whatever way you want. You can enable Bluetooth, NFC to be displayed all the time.

In ui6 there was a settings to display all notification icons or just the last 3, they removed that and force us to only display 3 or none. If I wanted that level of customisation taken away id have gotten an iPhone. Also got these ugly smart things and nearby scanning icons that are permanent and can't be removed.

Every second reddit post I read is people complaining about this, I'm not the only one.

I have seen that settings where we can choose the notification icons so you can display it full. If you go to iphone then there is nothing in it. I have to check where that settings is. Smart things you can just disable it if you dont want. Why do you want to remove it? If you want clean skin pure android then pixel is there otherwise there is tons of settings and UI customisation here. Only problem is trying to find where it is. If you can share that reddit post then I can take a look what actually people saying.

For me everything is perfect.
