Overheating S22 ultra plus

My overheat since an update, i have tried removing my phone case, turn off and on, changing battery settings, put a lot of app on sleep, uninstalled games (my games were just basic games, mind you) still the same. then had an update yesterday for UI 6.0 and now noticed even its not being used its still warm to touch. and when using it would heat up right away. THIS IS NOT GOOD. My hubby have the S22 (not ultra) but doesn't have the any issue.

Google will have many more answers than what appear here "S22 ultra plus overheating". If you haven't tried these here are a couple of suggestions at least as temporary help:
1. Under Settings, Connections, Mobile NetworksSIM1 (and 2 if you are using it) set it to 4G, 3G, 2G i.e. excluding 5G). 5G using high speed download puts a lot of load on your phone. Even more if the connection is iffy as it repeatedly continues to try to download.
2. If not done already, set downloads only to use wi-fi. Play Store, your profile initial/photo, Manage your account, Settings, Auto-update apps, choose Don't auto-update apps,( you will need to download apps manually). This means you can update apps when you are not using your phone, and updates are frequent. Otherwise choose Over Wi-Fi only. This does mean you will be using your phone while apps updates are occurring so the load is heavier but much better than using the network.

Might be the phone just going through optimisation in the background. Leave it for a bit so it can settle. If it's still overheating after a couple of days, try using the diagnostics tools in the members app. Give us an update then.

yeah i did that, basically did everything just to see if anything works. but will see with this new update. this was not a problem before, it was just one of the updates that it started happening. ive been using Samsung since. tis the first time i have this issue. it just get so hot it even prompted me yesterday that phone is too hot can't open other apps.

Shenille, if I understand correctly you have received One UI 6 update in your S22 Ultra yesterday. Can you double confirm?

I am with Telstra and S22 Ultra and no way I received the updates. Was just double checking. Good on you you received the updates finally.
