Hi all,

Post update to Android 12 in Australia, bluetooth media on my S21 is not working in car (Hyundai).

Calls and Contacts all working OK, but when I play audio from any app (youtube, spotify, etc) I don't get any audio signal coming through car stereo. Commands like play, pause and next track from car unit all work OK.

Phone calls are all OK; people hear me, and I hear them.

Contacts all sync up without issue with car stereo too.

Apple iPhone and older Android Tablet works as expected, only the S21 with Android 12 is affected.

Curious if anyone else has seen this issue, and has a workaround.

Cheers

Nick

Turns out all bluetooth devices weren't playing audio but restarting the phone solves the issue. Hope someone experiencing similar issues finds this useful.

Hi @Peoroll, based on what you've described,

I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

I've had no end of trouble with my Note 10 plus & bluetooth to audio since the Android 12 update. I've tried every fix out there (including from Samsung), clearing the cache etc does a very temporary fix but every day I have to try a number of times to connect to my car. It was fine until the update. I also have issues with my earbuds too. It's audio based bluetooth issues. I'm over it.

Hi @Stace_face, I suggest trying the below steps to reset your Bluetooth:

Reset network settings [Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings > RESET NETWORK SETTINGS]

Note: This will forget previously linked Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

I also recommend clearing data from the Bluetooth app in your phone's settings. To do this, click on Settings > Apps > click on the symbol next to the Your apps heading > toggle on Show system apps and click Okay > scroll down and click on Bluetooth > Storage > click to Clear cache and Clear data.

Hi SamsungLaura, thanks so much for that 😊. I've tried all of the above several times over since the update, but I still keep getting the same issue. My phone does eventually connect to bluetooth audio devices but it's never consistent or a guaranteed result. It would occasionally have the same issues before the update, but very rarely. Now it's all the time since the update.

I have this exact same issue, Samsunsung Galaxy S22. The phone connects to the head unit for Calls and Contacts, but not Audio. I have deleted the connection on both the phone and head unit, reset network settings, cleared bluetooth cache and data.... Occasionally after this whole process it connects Audio once, but as soon as I turn the car off then back on, its back to the same issue. I have reset my head unit back to factory settings and updated the phone to the latest Android 12 - 5.10.81 Kernal...

I've just spent over an hour on the phone to a Samsung tech and have suggested they need to investigate the fault and fix it in an upcoming software update.

SAMSUNG, PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP AS ITS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!
