Hi all,

Is anyone else experiencing lag with 'super steady' turned on in video mode?

I know this was meant to be addressed in an update but I'm still experiencing it.

Doesn't seem to happen when using FHD 30 or 60fps only in FHD Auto.

Cheers

Jack

Hi @Jack2022, that's strange. Have you tried:

1. Camera > Settings > Reset camera settings

2. Restarting since the software update -> This can help with the installation of any recent updates.

If the issue persists, I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of an issue occuring with log data attached.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Thanks Laura, not sure if this will show up in an error report as it is lag/stuttering not an actual crash...
I have to reset camera settings, wiped partition cache in recover and restarted phone. I have also cleared camera cache and data.

To reproduce the issue in video mode you would ensure the recording mode is FHD Auto and then turn super steady on. You do not have to hit record for it to happen but I did notice it happened more quickly when you do and also in landscape.

Hi @Jack2022, it may still catch the stuttering or at least the performance speed slowing down. If you are able to replicate the issue again, please send that through for our team to look into.

Hi Laura, unfortunately I've been able to reproduce this everytime. Sometimes it happens immediately, other times it might take a few seconds of panning. I could send a video clip along with the instructions above to reproduce the issue would that suffice?
What's the best way to send through files to you guys as it'll likely not appear in an error report.

You can press the paperclip icon, or the + button, Press screenshot, then press video or screen recording, and then do a video with super steady on.

Received response back from Samsung team saying error report showing problem with camera hardware and to send device into Samsung for a service. Received device back from Samsung and they said no issue but on checking the camera issue still remains.
Would be grateful if anyone else is able to see if they also have this issue?
To reproduce navigate to video mode, ensure the default 'FPS Auto' is on and then press 'super steady' to turn it on. Pan around the room (no need to record) and see if it freezes at any point.
It might take up to fifteen seconds.
