S21 ultra a very said news

It's sad that even a flagship phone like S21 ULTTA 5G that I love and own gets only until android 15 :(

Samsung announced in 2021 that its commitment to providing software updates is up to four years. Although this was a significant move to enhance the longevity and support for their devices, still Apple provides the longest software upgrade support from all mobile phone manufacturers. The iPhone XR and XS and above models were still able to get the latest iOS 17 update that was released last Tuesday, 09/19. The XR and XS models were released in 2018.

We hope Samsung can also follow this, at least to their newer or even upcoming flagship phones.

Don't get me wrong. Samsung has the longest OS support among all the Android phones - which is 4, while Google Pixel is 3 years.

But just recently, there is a new Android phone maker called Fairphone which they commit to provide 8 to 10 years of OS support. That's promising but they have no any track record yet as a company.

I'll tell you, update policies on other brands are worse than Samsung, Google, and Apple.

It's Apple at the moment. Unless Samsung impelements 5 years of Major OS updates in the future
