Hi,

My phone (S24 ultra)has a permanent smudge where the fingerprint scanner is. It appears that the anti glare coating has come off prematurely.
After searching the internet it appears im not the only one. Its been there approx 8 months after getting the phone.
It is still user warranty.

Any help appreciated.

Hi GC, did you use a screen protector with your S24U?

Too late for you if damage has already occurred, but I have used a TPU (i.e. flexible film, self healing) screen protector on my S23U since I've had it over 16 months ago with no issues.

No i haven't used a screen protector on any of my phones. I've had many different brands with no issues previously.
This is my first screen with an anti glare coating though.

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll go back to pixel for my next phone. Plus the samsung keyboard *** with my fat fingers 😊

Hi @GodzillaCat ,

For an issue like this, your device would require assessment at an Authorised Service Centre. Below I have provided a link you can access to find an ASC, along with contact information and links to make an online booking for yourself.

Yeah unfortunately this is popping up a lot. Your best bet is if you do use a Samsung again, use a screen protector, like their anti-glare film.

Can you recommend a brand?
Ive found it affects the viewing angle on my friends phones, with screen protectors. Hence why ive never used one.
Thanks for your responses btw.

The only one I've personally used is the Anti-Glare film on my s25u, I think they did one for the 24. It's very good and highly rated. I have a self healing TPU film on mine currently from the PTC, it's not as good but I don't care so much about the outside anti reflective stuff. It might be worth to shop around friend. https://www.samsung.com/au/mobile-accessories/galaxy-s25-ultra-anti-reflecting-film-transparent-ef-u...

Great! Thanks. Ill see what samsung say. If they cant help, i can get my screen replaced through telstra for $99. If i go that route, ill definitely give a screen protector a go.
Its very annoying though considering the price of this device.

Yeah it is pretty annoying, seems like an unprecedented issue and the only way to prevent it is to lose the anti glare properties with a protector. I hope you can get it resolved quickly 🙏
