This is my first under screen finger print scanner, coming from a Z Fold 5 where the finger print scanner was on the side (more traditional scanner).

This phone scans my finger half the time, and doesn't recognise it the rest of the time.

"Incorrect finger print"
"Press harder on scanner"
"Cover entire sensor"
"Please use pin biometric unlock disabled for 5 minutes"

This is a downgrade in reliability and speed from the Z Fold 5 side finger print scanner.

Edit: so it seems I'm not alone on this after reading online, seems to be slower than a S20 FE and not as consistent.

It's not just s25 ultra but it even happen on s10+ the best u can do is add more fingers print (at least 4 can be added) then it will be read flawless.

Trick is register a sweaty finger as 2 additional alternative fingerprints. It's happening with all the under the screen fingerprints scanners.

Then we should get 8 "fingers" to scan in total, 2 scans per finger. Both thumbs and index fingers.

It does work better having tried this, but it brought it from 50% to 80% unlike the near flawless (and instant) experience traditional scanners provide.

If there is one thing that needs serious improving it's biometrics, because the face scanning is also bad.

Well all we can do is hope. It is what it is. Anyhow, you're welcome.

Of course, thanks for the input. It isn't a 100% solution but it's better than nothing.

Yeah. It's a trick from one of the Telstra in-store sales person and apparently that's the most sensible workaround for now.

I'm reading online and it seems people are saying it's slower than their S20FE finger print scanner.

It really does seem to be software related, to me at least.

I hope this workaround is temporary and Samsung does some software wizardry.

Hi, I think it might be because of the screen protector. try taking it off and see if that makes a difference. If it does, get a new screen protector

I don't have a screen protector yet, because people said it ruins the anti glare of the screen. I've been told to buy the Samsung plastic film.
