Can someone help me? Is it only me who has a green line on my screen after a software update? What to do? I already tried troubleshooting it, but the line is still here. I already tried chatting with their support system, but they just said I had to go to the service center to get it fixed. Am I the one who will pay for it, like, what? I didn't do anything to destroy it, suddenly, it just popped up on my screen. It's just disappointing because I saved money just to buy this phone, but this happened.

Overheating caused the displays connector to lose contacts. You need to have the display replaced.

I don't know if it has something to do with snapdragon SoC my old exynos devices displays are still good.

There was a free replacement for the displays of s20 lineup but I don't know if it's still available.

If it happened after a software update, then another software update will most probably resolve that issue. If you can't wait, there are ways to downgrade to the previous firmware, but it can be very challenging if you're not techie.

Hello iamvaneee,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the recent updates on your Samsung Galaxy phone having issues with the green line on screen.

It's good to know that you've tried several troubleshooting steps and even called our chat support service, but are still undecided about proceeding to go to a repair service due to your worries about the financial aspects of it. We feel and understand it; if it happens to me, I will be bothered too.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 4. Restart your device.

Clear Cache Wipe Partition.

Step 1.  Turn off the device. (Connect with type C cable)
Step 2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the power button.
Step 3. When the Android logo displays, release all keys.
Step 4. Press the Volume down key to navigate and select "Wipe cache partition".
Step 5. Press Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Select Reboot System.
Step 6. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Display".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.

If you have S20 or Note 20 series than your display and battery will be replaced for free at service center till 30 September 2023. The only catch is device is not old than 3 years and you have to wait for 10-15 working days.

I have the same problem with my Galaxy Z Flip 3. Mine is less than 2 years and while charging my phone, the green line in the middle of the screen appeared. I tried to troubleshoot it to the extent of doing the factory reset, but the green line is still there. saaaaaad...

Same here on my Note 20 Ultra 5g. The green line appeared on August 22, 2023. I really love this phone and I was thunking about getting the display fixed. But I read that the problem might reoccur. I've been using Samsung since S6 edge. Now it's got me thinking of switching to another brand. So sad.
