"Storage Map" app shows there is "/system" volume for system files,  separate from Internal Storage used by apps, photos, videos. Uninstalling apps and deleting photos DOESN'T release system storage. On my Galaxy S20 FE, "/system" folder is 99% full at 5.7 Gb. The biggest files are OneDrive_Samsung_v3.apk 121Mb, SBrowser.apk 146Mb. I don't even use OneDrive, and I don't even know what SBrowser is. Is it possible to clean up system files?

Not seeing how the massive growth of system storage has been solved in any way. It seems to happen on a number of Android 11 devices. And you're locked out of access to system files to delete whatever it's collecting. I have a S10e but my non-Samsung tablet is the culprit for me.

I had the same issue and couldn't find a solution. I was able to figure it out on my own how to fix it.

You have to reboot your phone to the android recovery mode then wipe the cache partition and then repair the apps.

Step by step instructions.

1. Restart the phone.

2. Press and hold the volume up button and the power button at the same time when the phone is about to restart.

3. Once the android recovery mode loads select wipe cache partition by pressing the volume keys and then power button to initiate the option.

4. After you wipe cache partition, select the repair apps option. This will initiate repair apps and reboot the phone.

Once the repair apps is completed, it should fix the issue with your system storage. I'm not sure why this happens but my guess is that files from apps get stuck in the system storage and by wiping the cache partition and repairing the apps fixes the issue.

Thank you so much, My Android system was taking up 98% of my internal memory and I did not have much on my phone. I took a picture of your instructions and I followed it to a T. My phone is now only 15% system storage. Again, thank you so much. I cannot thank you enough. Anyone having trouble with their Android should follow these instructions.

I literally made an account just to say thank you, I've been battling this on my s20+ for some time and had tried all sorts of solutions but none of them worked. Pretty much deleted every app over 1g and it would still show my internal storage as 127/128gb. Deleted a 9gb game and only freed up 2gb so I was like *** is going on. Your fix did it for me. System dropped from 70gb to 22 and apps to 38gb so I'm now sitting at 60/128gb. You sir are a hero and I salute you.👍
