Samsung's high usage of system storage

Have you updated your system or you have some pending system updates? But I'm not 100% what's causing it to show like that...

Oh yes, everything is up-to-date.  It's just so weird because I started moving all of my photos/images (and I take a lot of photos/videos/etc) to my SD Card (256GB) to free up the Internal Memory.  Prior to moving the files, I had about 10GB of FREE Internal Memory, but then after moving everything to the SD Card, I SHOULD have about 30GB of Internal Memory, but it shows that 92GB is for APPS and 26.5GB for SYSTEM and Internal Memory FREE space is LESS than 1GB, which does NOT make any sense to me.  I even went in and set to show "hidden files (apps)" and one-by-one went through each APP and Cleared BOTH the Cache AND the DATA.  The more Cache and Data that I cleared, the MORE Memory gets SUCKED UP by Internal Memory.  SO WEIRD!

Firstly go to your my files and analyse storage then tap on apps.

 hi I just got this phone and transferred data and it said smart switch was 40 ish gigabytes after that but when i deleted it all of those gigabytes went to my storage is this normal? Why is this happening?
