So recently I tried using the Encryption feature from my Samsung S8. I pressed the button to initiate encryption, and when it got to about 80% it said an error occurred. I didn't think much after that and didn't try again. Though, One day when I wanted to check a video of my father I noticed it had a circle with an exclamation mark on it. The images can't be seen and videos don't play anymore. I tried transferring the files to my pc to see it through there but no luck. Then I remembered about the encryption feature and thought maybe it did encrypt my files. Sadly, when I go to that option, it only allows for the SD card to be encrypted. There is no option to Decrypt my SD card and now I technically can't see any of my stuff. What can I do to fix this...
I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. To send an error report: Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.
