So I normally rinse my phone under the tap every now and then just for a while but this is the first time its happened. Anyone habe any ideas or experience with this? Thanks in advance.

I sometimes toss it in the water to see if it floats.

You should not be doing that. Devices degrade over time with normal wear and tear. and these devices are water resistant, not waterproof. So some drops must have been gone inside the frame and that's why the vapour.

I think Your best option is to take it to a service centre and fix it, cz it won't be good news if the moisture has gotten into the insides

I might do that, just hope if wouldn't cost too much go fix it.
