Galaxy ZHi Folks
A black dot has appeared on my Zfold5 appeared about 10 days ago. I bought it during preorder and I think I have about 2-3 months warranty still left.
It is right on the crease line about 25mm from the top as can be seen in the image.
I dropped a message on Samsung page and got a callback. After explaining to them, they asked to take it to a the nearest Samsung Store.
Due to the holidays, I couldn't take it in till today. Took it into the Macquarie centre store in Sydney. The representative took a look at the screen and in less than 10 seconds said it has been damaged and Samsung will not cover under warranty. He went ahead and said another customer brought in earlier with the same issue and the cost to repair will be approx $1000. He didn't even inspect the outside or any other part of the phone.
I went ahead to explain how could I damage the inner screen. Only way would possible be if I dropped it while open (which has never happened, and it is right on the crease and perfectly circular.
His next few comments were both upsetting and infuriating. He said he wanted to buy a Fold for himself but decided not to after seeing all these issues and that you had to baby them. He suggested I go should ahead and buy an S25 or something in the future until Samsung sort out this issue in a later model.
I have had Samsung S series since the first model between my wife and I and this is the worst experience I have had. Really pushing me away from buying any further Samsung products.
My brother had a Zfold2 and had some issues but he did get around 3 years out of it, considering he is pretty rough with it due to his work environment. I also gave rave reviews after my purchase and had 3 other family members went ahead and purchased the Fold5. 2 of them have had issues of some sort with the inner screen.
I will give NSW Fair trainig a try, but don't have high hopes.
