My Z flip 4 shuts down when i fold open or close my device. This issue started after the recent update. I took it to the service center but they quoted me $690 to change the flex hinge as they believe the issue is because of a damaged flex hinge, I was asked to pay even though I'm under warranty because my phone has a small scratch on phone. I have had the scratch for over a year now and never had the shutdown issue until recently. They refused to listen to any of my speculations regarding the recent update, stating that they need to follow the guidelines. I have submitted an error report on Samsung Members App and if you're facing similar issues with your Z flip or fold device after the recent update , i would encourage you to do the same!

My tablet 9 is doing the same thing. Freezing and shutting down repeatedly. Also after the last software update.

I have the same issue. Tried to contact Samsung support but got a copy/paste "sounds like a hardware issue send in for repair" even when I told them about other reports of exactly the same problem

I have the same issue with the flip 4. Right after the update the phone shuts off when closed. Only when its plugged in it works, so i guess its no a hardware problem.

I am having a similiar issue after the update. Whenever i flip the phone open, the screen goes blank. The service centre guy said the screen needs to be replaced. Didnt even try to soft restart my phone. I restarted my phone myself and it is working fine right now if I dont flip it open. So have been using it as a normal slab phone for last 2 days. Samsung should address this if so many people are having similiar problems. Also the service centre guys are useless.

Samsung support would keep repeating its probably a hardware problem and didn't care when I mentioned other people having the same issue.
I ended up doing a reset (still happened) and have now taken it in for service

Got my phone back. So it was basically a complete replacement again. New shell and screens, no idea what the "real" cause was or what was found.
