I have a Galaxy Fold4 with a SIM and esim. Both using the same network.

II have found that the physical SIM is consistently with lower connectivity with lower bars. And when checking the network, it actually has a weaker reception than the esim.

It's rather strange, An option now I have been comparing my SIM with my S21. The S21 also consistently has better network connectivity.

And default, the physical SIM generally cannot access data when There are 2 bars all less.

In the past, not necessarily now, sim1 has been given preference in terms of network connectivity. I.e. sim1 may use 4G and sim2 is then set at 3G. This may affect data in terms of sim2 trying to download over 3G. A bit of Googling will identify this old problem. The question is whether in newer phones it is now possible to use the same connectivity setting concurrently.

I assume 1 Is the physical one in which case it is the 1 used for data. The second one does not have any plan.

I am not familiar enough with esim to know which is which. If you rrmove the sim and then search for something like sim kanagement you will be able to tell. Doing further reading after my original posts it seems that some phones allow concurrent 4G connectoons and some don't.

Well, in any case, the data is off for the second. Because I don't have money in that SIM. From all the menus the physical is listed first so I think that is correct.

In your phone settings (drag down from top to see if this shows there) you can set calls, text messages snd data to use one sim or the other. It would be intetesting to see if setting data to sim2 males a differencr.
