Does anyone have an idea of what happens if I change my mind and don't want to trade in after receiving the new phone?

Nothing, you just dont get your security deposit back.

No the bonus value isn't included but before you do anything read the t&c as for not following the trade in contract may have penalties and stuff, they do ask you to provide an ID.

You won't get your device back. Every person who has been scammed by Asurion will tell you the same.

They will just charge you the security hold plus 30 or 60 non-return fee depending on the contract.
