Z Fold 3 Wifi connection issue

Was accessing my email via my ZF3 than the page got hang and reboot. After it reboot, the phone is unable to connect to wifi anymore. Tried some remedies found online such as switch off for 10-15min. At first whem i turn on my phone after 15min, i would be able to connect to wifi. After when i unfold it got hang and reboot again. Today went down to service center and they quote $660 for the repair. Which is almost 50% of the purchase price. The customer service does not recognise that this is a samsung hardward problem and said this could be human misuse. I have been using samsung product for many years and this is the first time experiencing hardware problem. **bleep** disappointed with their product.

Hey, last week I got the same issue as u. That day, before this WiFi issue happened, I was unlocking my phone to reply to my whatsapp messages. Then suddenly, the screen froze. Initially, I thought was just WhatsApp app crash and reached for the Recent key to force close the app. Then, I saw the Samsung logo and I thought it was the auto restart function kicking in, as I had the auto restart enabled.

To my surprise, after I unlock my phone and wanted to reply to my whatsapp messages, I realised that the message didn't go thru because the WiFi wasn't turned on. I tried to turn on multiple times and it kept remaining in light blue and turned to grey as soon as I closed the notification tray. I turned off my phone for 1 more time and the same issue persisted. On the 2nd restart, WiFi was working fine until the next time. The same auto restart occurred and this time round, upon reboot, the WiFi never worked again.

Btw, u can try to toggle on ur Mobile Hotspot and it won't work any more too. Now that u have this issue almost the same period as me, I am starting to suspect that this shouldn't be a hardware issue and instead, some apps could have broken it.

But anyway, I still have coverage, so currently my phone is still at the service centre for repair and likely no fees will be charged.

I have feedback to the service center of potential hardware problem. As i have done some research than this is a common problem. Yet they commented that it might be a user problem. Anyway my phone is now at the service centre see what is the final bill i need to pay.

Hi, definitely not a user problem. During this week, there are total 3 of us already kena, u, me and 1 more Member who shared on 16th Apr that his WiFi and Mobile Hotspot are also not working.

There could be more that we don't know of, as not everyone is sharing on this Members app platform and some could have shared on Reddit or Quora.

Hi, for ur case, how does ur Wifi stop working? Did it auto restart suddenly and after booted up, wifi and mobile hotspot could no longer turn on too?

Btw, I just got back my phone during lunchtime. The lady told me that the LCD and hinge have been replaced, as the WiFi, mic and mobile hotspot cable are attached to the LCD. I don't think they check thoroughly the cause of the issue and just replace the entire LCD to save time.

Thanks for the update. When i got back my phone i will need to check if the replacement comes with warranty. Otherwise i think is time to change phone

Hope that yours comes with warranty.. if not it will be hefty to pay $660 for the LCD replacement, which u can use this amount to purchase a 2nd hand Z Fold 3. But I doubt u will purchase a Z Fold 3 again.. might as well go back to rigid phone.. S23 Ultra.
