A few months ago, I got a Buds2 Pro and made a review of it (https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/members-star-s-corner/samsung-galaxy-buds2-pro-review/td-p/23941...).

I've recently also gotten the new Galaxy Buds FE (Fan Edition) so I thought I'd write a quick review on these amazing pair!

Design
Compared to the Buds2 Pro, the Buds FE case is noticeably different. I believe they have similar dimensions, however, while the Buds2 Pro are made with this nice feeling matte rubber material, the Buds FE are more hard plastic on hand. It's shinier and smoother feeling. I personally find the case on the buds2 pro to feel nicer, however Samsung does sell many cute and great case protectors, so I don't really think the case design matter much.

The earbuds themselves are designed very differently too. The Buds FE have a flat surface, which makes tapping a bit easier. They also bring the wingtips back from the original Buds and Buds+. These have the added benefit of a more secure fit in the ear. As a result these should stay on much more securely when you are in the gym and especially running. I was lucky in that, both the Buds2 Pro and Buds FE stayed on in my ears without issues during my runs.

Features
The Buds FE, just like the rest of the FE families, gives you the best bang for buck. They concentrate on what's important and leave out the less important features.

They do not have 360 audio nor do they have Voice Detect. They are also rated IPx2 (good for sweats) and not the higher IPx7. They also don't have 24bit audio or wireless charging. These features are reserved for the Buds2 Pro as well as the Buds2.

They do have: the fit test, find my earbuds, multipoint (with other Samsung products) and more importantly....

How do they sound?
They sound amazing. They are very neutral in sound, in that the bass, mids and treble do not over power any and they simply sound pleasant in the ears. They do not sound distorted, nor do they feel fatiguing after a few hours listening. The Wear App also includes 6 preset EQs, however I would suggest leaving it on normal this time.

Perhaps what was more surprising to me, was how the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) performed on these. They are simply excellent, especially when you consider the price of these buds! Nothing within its price bracket can compete. I would actually say, these have a slightly better ANC than the Buds2 Pro, because not only do they reduce the low frequencies, but they block out the higher frequencies a little bit better. I am not kidding when I say this, I was surprised myself.

Which one should you get?
I'd still say the Buds2 Pro has a better, more enjoyable sound than the Buds Fe. This is not a huge surprise as those have dual drivers, 24 bit music (with subscription and a Galaxy phone) as well as 360 audio (excellent for movies). However for the price that you're paying, these Buds FE are probably the best valued earbuds you can get, especially if you're already on a Galaxy device.

Highly recommend these!

Great review!

I personally prefer the Galaxy Buds FE overall. They fit me better and the sound is slightly better for my music choice. It all depends on taste I reckon 😋

Yeah, I do like the 360 audio for my movies, it makes action scenes that much better.

But you can get the FE for quite a low price now and that's the kicker.

Glad you're also enjoying it!
