Currency conversion would show Samsung mobile devices (Smart phones, laptops, tablets) are priced higher in the Philippines compared to the prices in the international markets?
One example is the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra - On release day, it's priced at $1199.99 but ₱85,990.00. That's as if the conversion rate is ₱71.66 to $1, but actual currency conversion is ₱56.79 to $1, and the price should be ₱68,091.21!!
1,688 SGD is ₱70,319.35, still cheaper to buy from Singapore, and Philippines is geographically much closer to South Korea and China!
Can somebody please help me understand why this is? Why is Samsung implementing price discrimination?
There is a huge gap of about $300 difference!

Taxes and market distribution. Actually the Tab S9 Ultra is cheaper by 350usd here because the keyboard cover is always free. We're one of the lucky ones to get this since Tab S7 Ultra I think. I skipped those but got the S8 Ultra and S9 Ultra
I don't think everyone will want to have that, even if it's bundled in; and if it's priced like that, it's the same as paying for something you may not really want to have.
Are keyboard cases always bundled with the device, even after the promo period though?
Yes. Since the Tab S7 Ultra. Keyboard covers come free. I didn't get an S7 though. The Tab S8 Ultra I got August 2022 it was on sale and came with the keyboard cover. It's actually the best accessory ypu can get for the Tabs due to their use case for DEX
I'll wait for the holiday offers to kick in. When I checked on the website, they did have pretty good discounts with promo codes, bringing the overall bundle price to ₱76,491.00, unfortunately I'm just strapped for funds... we shall see!
I do have the Galaxy Book Pro 360, and my plan is to get a tab for dual purpose: to use as a second screen, and for leisure...
