recently purchased a Samsung A12 for a friend's kid (11yrs old) and was looking at setting them up with a Samsung account to have on there for phone recovery, galaxy app store updates etc which requires an account.
apparently now there's Samsung family that's only on like the latest s series and i cant find any option on Samsung website to do this.
i have setup google family link which pretty much does what's needed for locking down the kids account, but this Samsung family thing is interesting if available other ways?
you definitely need a Samsung account to do other things like phone recovery if lost or even just updating apps in galaxy store.
feels like this family option should be extended to allow other devices to get in on the few extras a Samsung account has that google hasn't got covered in theirs.
